Young Africans thumped Azam 3-0 in the Tanzania Premier League at the New Amaan Complex on Wednesday evening.

The dominant victory drags Yanga close to the fifth league title with two games left on the mesmerising menu.

With five minutes left on the clock, Ibrahim ‘Bacca’ Hamad broke the deadlock after being set up by Prince Dube.

Coming from the halftime break, Azam were the better side looking for a quick equaliser but Yanga’s backline stood firm and tall to guard their territory.

In the 72nd minute Yanga were awarded a penalty afyer Twalib Nuhu was judged to have tripped an attacler in the area.

Laurido ‘Depu’ Aurelio stepped up and converted from the spot to double Yanga’s lead infront of a great crowd.

With 10 minutes on the clock, Pacome Zouzoua put the icing on the cake with a quick reaction that allowed him tap home a lose ball in the area.

A victory takes Yanga to 69 points. With two games left to play, Yanga need only four points to clinch the title for the fifth straight time.

In the second position is Simba on 67 points and equally have two games to be played in the ongoing campaign.
