2026 FIFA World Cup (Group H):
- Cabo Verde 0-0 Saudi Arabia
- Uruguay 0-1 Spain
Ghana’s Black Stars advanced to the Round of 32 regardless of their final group match against Croatia at the on-going 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The positive news came after Uruguay’s 0-1 defeat to Spain at the Estadio Guadalajara.
Alex Baena scored the all-important goal in the 42nd minute.
Uruguay finished the game a man less with a red card to Agustin Canobbio in stoppage time.
This is the first time ever that Ghana will appear at the knockout stage of a major tournament since 2019.

The qualification was confirmed with one group game remaining, securing their position among the top teams from Group L.
Currently on four points, Ghana plays Croatia at the Philadelphia stadium in one of the two final Group L games.
Elsewhere, Panama will square against England at the New York New Jersey stadium in East Rutherford.
