Aaron Isabirye shows off his trophy

The future of Uganda’s Squash is bright. Many young players have taken up the game, thanks to the deliberate efforts of existing clubs as Kampala Club Limited.

10-year-old Aaron Isabirye won the U-13 cluster at the recently concluded Mid-Year Juniors Squash championship held at Parklands club in Nairobi – Westlands, Kenya.

He smiled past Henry Sishia 3-0 in the one-sided finale.

Isabirye was accompanied by his coach Michael Raymond Kawooya from Kampala Club Limited.

In the U-15 category, Isabirye reached the semi-finals in the tourney that was being played for the third edition.

Voted as the best junior and upcoming player, Isabirye was sponsored by Mogas  Oil, Kampala Club Limited and other well wishers.

The tournament which had players in the U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 dockets lured as many as 80 junior players from across the East African region.

The trajectory for Isabirye is right having already won four tournaments at his home base in Kampala city.
