4th July since 1776 remains dear to the hearts of Americans. This is the special day that United States commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of independence to establish the United States of America (USA).
This year, it is exactly 250 years since the momentous occasion.
In Uganda, the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), joined by the associate members and partners will celebrate this special day with the third edition of the AMCHAM Golf Day tournament.
The AMCHAM Golf Day tournament returns for the third year in a row at the lavish Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa in Kigo, Wakiso District.
It will be a day of celebration, networking and business connections on and off the course decimated by picturesque water harzards.
“We look forward to welcoming golfers, our members, partners, & the wider business community for what promises to be a fantastic day of golf, networking & celebrating the strong partnerships that make this event such a success.” Eve Zalwango, the AMCHAM Uganda General Manager remarked during the official launch on Tuesday, 30th June 2026.
The American Chamber of Commerce Uganda is working with all the 62 affiliate members and other business chambers to make the day a success.
They will be joined by a bandwagon of sponsors and partners as Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa, Qatar Airways, Serena Hotels, Motorcare Uganda, MTN Momo, Uganda Golf Union, wtw, Entikko Safari Lodge, Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Kampala Golf Centre, others.
Qatar Airways will proved two return air tickets to the top performers, Entikko Safari Lodge has two vouchers for two persons apiece and Motorcare Uganda has provided that JMC 2026 model pickup car.
Uganda Golf Union’s vice president Charles Paul Rukundo, who doubles as the head of junior development also graced the launch press conference.
He highlighted the essence of junior golf development as part of the union’s agenda to spread and grow the game to at least 75% of the country as stipulated by the new regulations from National Council of Sports (NCS).
“Uganda Golf Union is humbled to be part of the 2026 AMCHAM Golf Day tournament. We are keen to take golf to the under privileged and underserved communities of Uganda. Already, 150 communities and schools have been enrolled and the process is on-going” Rukundo hinted.
Saturday’s event will commence with a short gun at 10 AM with each of the groups in action at least one junior.
There will be a climaxing party by close of the day during the official prize giving and awards ceremony.
