England recovered from a goal down to eject Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 2-1 out of the on-going 2026 FIFA World Cup at the round of 32.

Upon the 74th minute, England trailed the African representative courtesy of Brian Kibambe Cipenga’s 7th minute goal.

Cipenga, who features for Spanish club UD Almeria opened the scoring business inside the first ten minutes with a near post finish past goalkeeper Jordan Lee Pickford.

England’s captain Harry Edward Kane scored a brace in a remarkable comeback that witnessed the 1966 FIFA World Cup champion qualify to the round of 16 where they face co-hosts Mexico on 5th July 2026 at the Mexico City stadium.

England joined the liked of Mexico, France, Paraguay, Brazil, Norway and Morocco at the round of 16.

The round of 32 matches continues with Belgium’s contest against Senegal at the Seattle stadium in Seattle state.
