United States of America (USA) will tussle against Belgium in the round of 16 at the on-going 2026 FIFA World Cup in Seattle on 6th July 2026.
Despite finishing a man-less, USA eliminated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in the round of 32 at the San Francisco Bay Area stadium.
Folarin Jerry Balogun and Malik Leon Tillman scored in the 45th and 82nd minutes respectively.
Balogun who features for French Ligue 1 side Monaco had a left footed finish inside the goal area on the stroke of half time moments after his would-be opener had been disallowed for off-side.
Balogun was sent off in the 64th minute after dangerous play onto defender Tarik Muharemovic as the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosts ended the game with 10 men.
Bayern Leverkusen’s Tillman struck a beautiful free kick with 8 minutes to play to double USA’s lead.
