Belgium players celebrate

Belgium overturned a two goal deficit to eject Belgium 3-2 after extra-time during an interesting round of 32 contest at the on-going 2026 FIFA World Cup in Seattle.

Senegal scored through Habib Diarra and Ismaila Sarr to take a 2-0 at some stage of the game.

Belgium replied via substitute Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans’ goals inside the last four minutes of the game.

Diarra put Senegal ahead in the 24th minute for a 1-0 lead by the mandatory half time break.

Sarr doubled their lead six minutes into the second half.

Senegal led 2-0 until the 86th minute when Lukaku pulled back a goal for Belgium.

Three minutes later, Belgium was level with Tielemans’ header to send the game into the extra additional 30 minutes.

Tielemans scored a late-late penalty in extra-time, sending Senegal’s goalkeeper the wrong way.

Belgium progressed to the round of 16 and will face the winner between United States of America or Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Other successful countries at the round of 16:

England, Mexico, France, Canada, Paraguay, Brazil, Norway and Morocco are all advanced to the round of 16.
