Uganda Premier League Champions Vipers Sac have completed the signing of towering defender Nicholas Mwere on a two-year deal.

The Venoms confirmed the arrival of Mwere aka Big League on Friday morning via the club website and social media accounts.

“StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions Vipers SC are delighted to announce the signing of versatile defender Nicholas Mwere on a two-year contract.” The statement confirmed.

Mwere comes as a free agent after his contract with BUL FC expired and he becomes the third signing for the ambitious Vemons, following the acquisition of midfielder Joel Sserujogi and Congolese defender Jacques Mangoba.

At St. Mary’s Stadium, Mwere is expected to compete for a starting slot with Derrick Ndahiro and youngster Enock Luyima.

Upon completing the move, the gangly defender stated that, joining Vipers SC is a proud moment in my career. This is a club with a winning culture, great ambitions and incredible supporters. I am ready to work hard, learn from the technical team and give everything to help the club achieve its objectives. I can’t wait to get started.”

Before joining for BUL in 2023, Mwere has featured for Busoga United.
