Despite being out for three seasons, Denis Ojara has been a handed a new contract at SC Villa.
The versatile Ojara joined the Jogoos from Onduparaka in August 2023 and unfortunately tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament [ACL] days later in a pre-season Fufa Super 8 match against Maroons.
Ojara, deployed as a forward by SC Villa in the two matches had scored the winner against the Prison Warders in the reverse match before he suffered the career threatening injury.
He underwent surgery without featuring in a competitive match for the record champions and missed out as SC Villa won the 2023/24 league title.
Midway last season, he joined his teammates in full training and appearing fully fit at the moment, he has been rewarded with a new contract.
It remains to be seen how he will be utilized under Zeljko Kovacevic with Ojara versatile enough to feature both as a centre forward and centre back.
His return is more like a new signing for the record league winners who have already added John Asiimwe and Isaac Gumperom to their armory but lost Elvis Ngonde and Charles Lwanga to traditional rivals KCCA.
