Uganda Premier League champions, Vipers SC have confirmed the departure of right back Grant Matsiko and goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya.

The development was confirmed via the club’s official social media platform on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

“Thank you and farewell Grant Matsiko and Bashir Ssekagya, we wish you all the best on your future endeavors,” the statement reads.

Ssekagya’s second spell at the club comes on an end with a year remaining on his three-year employment contract that was terminated.

The lanky goalkeeper faced stiff challenge from Denis Kiggundu, Alfred Mudereza and Jack Komakech thus bringing her second spell to and end in a frustrating manner.

On the other hand, Matsiko has also exited from the Venoms after a dull spell at the Kitende-based side. The roving right-back has already moved on after being unveiled at Entebbe UPPC.

The duo becomes the third departure after Taddeo Lwanga who has since joined Kenyan side AFC Leopards. The Vipers’ squad shake will continue as the club prepares for the CECAFA Kagame Cup, CAF Champions League, Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup.
