Heathens have signed Andrew Odhiambo from the KOBs ahead of the National 7s, with an announcement pending.
The Kenya-born utility player has turned out at flank and center since making the move to Uganda with the Jinja Hippos. Although Odhiambo has played for the Uganda Emerging 7s at the Safari 7s in 2025, he is not yet eligible to represent the country on the international scene through residency.
In 2025, he made the move to the KOBs, where he was an integral part in their journey to the semifinal stage of the premiership. He has a modest 2026 league season with the KOBs, with new signings Scott Oluoch and Brian Wandera being preferred in the back row, pushing the versatile Odhiambo to centre.
At Heathens, Odhiambo will be a core piece to the Kyadondo side’s aspirations to regain the National 7s title they last won in 2024. In the Uganda Cup, he has a part to play, whether at flank or centre, as the Heathens have looked shaky in both departments.
For now, Odhiambo is training with the Heathens while an official announcement is in the works with 2 days left on the mid-season transfer window.
