Vipers head coach Denis Lavagne believes new signing Ceaser Lobi Manzoki still has the hunger to win after the striker rejoins the club on a two-year contract.
Manzoki was a hit in his first spell at Kitende helping the Venoms win the league and Uganda Cup and bagged several individual awards as well under Oliviera Robertinho.
His return has already excited the Kitende fan base who enjoyed his two seasons in which he scored over 35 goals in all competitions.
“Some players need time to understand what a club represents. Cesar already knows,” Lavagne told the club website.
“He is returning home, and that is important because he understands our culture, our ambition and the expectations that come with wearing this shirt.
“We know what he has achieved here before, but football is always about the next challenge. We believe he still has the hunger to score goals, entertain supporters and help this team compete for trophies again.”
The French tactician whose main task is to lead the league champions to the Caf Champions League group stages and defend the league is already looking ahead.
“Our ambitions extend beyond Uganda. We want to be competitive in Africa as well, and experienced players like Cesar will be vital as we continue building a squad capable of achieving those goals.”
