Uganda Premier League has confirmed the signing of holding midfielder Steven Mugisha ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The development was confirmed today, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, via the club’s official website. He joins SC Villa from Kira United, even though many got to learn of him during his spell at Bulemeezi where he captained the side in the Masaza Cup.
“SC Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Steven Mugisha ahead of the 2026/27 season,” the statement partly reads.
Mugisha signed a four-year employment contract with SC Villa, which will keep him at the club until 2030. This gives him ample time to grow and develop his craft with the league record champions.
Speaking after the signing, Mugisha expressed his excitement about joining Uganda’s most successful club.
“It is a dream come true to join SC Villa. This is a club with a rich history, passionate supporters and a winning culture. I am grateful for the opportunity and ready to give my all for the badge,” he was quoted by the club’s website.
Mugisha becomes the club’s third signing after the confirmation of versatile player John Asiimwe and striker Isaac Gumperom.
