Argentina will face Spain in the long-awaited grand finale of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, 19th July.

The reigning World Champions survived a scare, scoring inside the final five minutes of the game to rally from a goal down and win the contest 2-1.

Anthony Gordon gave England the lead on 55 minutes.

Enzo Fernandez equalized with 5 minutes to climax normal time before super substitute Lautaro Martinez scored in the second of the 7 added minutes with a great powerful header.

Both goals were assisted by the 39-year-old Argentina captain Lionel Messi.

Messi was named man of the match for the fourth time in the tournament.

Argentina, three time winners of the FIFA World Cup now face Spain in Sunday’s final.

Spain overcame France 2-0 in Dallas during the first semi-final.

A goal in either half from Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro inspired Spain to yet another final as they chase their second FIFA World Cup trophy since 2010.
