Morley Byekwaso has been appointed as the new Express FC head coach.
The former KCCA, SC Villa and SC Victoria University tactician was unveiled by the club ahead of the 2026/27 season although the duration of the contract remains a mystery.
Byekwaso, who also played for the Red Eagles in mid 2000s has been without a coaching job since he left SC Villa at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
“I am honoured to lead this special club,” said Byekwaso upon his unveiling.
“Together, we believe, we will fight and build something special in this club. We respect Express Mukwano Gwabangi, Square Pass Moto. I can’t wait to see the fans in the stands,” he added.
The former national team U-20 coach replaces Jimmy Kintu who joined URA.
His first task will be to build a team that is able to compete following an abysmal campaign last season in which they missed out on top eight finish.
He will be assisted by experienced Edward Kaziba who has not coached in topflight for some years now after he left SC Villa.
Express face a huge season in which they want to rebuild a strong side and earlier announced Becky Cynthia Nakimera as their new Chief Executive Officer.
