For Kigezi HomeBoyz FC, the upcoming season represents an unprecedented chapter with ambitions and targets.
As the club prepares for its historic maiden campaign in the Uganda Premier League, the Gorillas know that making an impact at the highest level of Ugandan football would require more than just enthusiasm; it would demand experience, leadership, and a proven winning edge.
Today, the club took a major step toward building that foundation by securing the signature of 30-year-old goalkeeper Norman Angufindru on a two-year contract.
Angufindru’s path to becoming one of the country’s most dependable shot-stoppers is a story of steady progress and unwavering resilience.
His senior footballing journey began at Ovujo United, before taking him through Mvara Boys, IUIU, Calvary FC, and Onduparaka FC. Most recently, he featured for SC Villa, where his contract eventually came to an end, opening the door for a new challenge in the Kigezi region.
Over the years, Angufindru built a reputation as a big-game player. Known for his commanding presence between the posts, swift reflexes, and sharpness in one-on-one situations, he brings calm and composure to the backline.
Beyond his shot-stopping, his ability to play with confidence using his feet and distribute accurately fits perfectly into modern game plans.
As the Gorillas step onto the top-flight stage for the first time, Angufindru’s arrival is about more than just filling a position, it’s about transforming the dressing room.
His championship pedigree, professionalism, and vocal leadership will be crucial as the squad adapts to the demands of elite football.
Unveiled officially to the club’s supporters, Angufindru made his intentions clear:
“I am excited to join the Gorillas family and I am looking forward to working together with everyone at the club. My goal is to help the team achieve success, give my all every day, and repay the confidence the club has shown in me. I thank the management for this opportunity.”
With a proven champion guarding the goal, Kigezi HomeBoyz FC enter their historic debut campaign with renewed confidence, ready to write the next chapter of their story in the Uganda Premier League.
