The third edition of the Watoto Golf Tournament is fully packaged with the caddies, elite amateurs, professionals and other golfers at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club, Kampala.
This tournament will take center stage between 3rd to 8th August 2026 under the theme: Hope on the Green – Driving Hope, Restoring Dignity and transforming generations.
The official launch was conducted at the Uganda Golf Club on Wednesday, 22nd July 2026 with officials from Watoto Church led by Pastor Edward Mwesigye, Pastoral Team Leader, Watoto Church.
Pastor Mwesigye represented the Watoto Ministry Team Leader, Pastor Julius Rwotlonyo.

Through the third edition of the Hope on the Green Golf Tournament, we are inviting individuals, companies and friends of Watoto to join us in raising UGX 450 million to empower 1,000 vulnerable mothers with business starter kits. When a mother is empowered, her family becomes stronger, her children have a better future, and the entire community benefit. For over 32 years, Watoto has walked alongside vulnerable children and women, restoring hope and creating opportunities for lasting change. This golf tournament is more than a sporting event; it is a chance for every Ugandan to make a meaningful difference. Organized by the Watoto Church, this tournament is aimed to empower 1,000 vulnerable women with a target of Ug.Shs 450,000,000 through golf and other activities.
This is a premier sporting and fundraising event that brings together corporate leaders, government representatives, development partners, golfers, and communities for a shared mission — restoring dignity and transforming the lives of vulnerable mothers and their children across Uganda.
The tournament will officially tee off on Monday, 3rd August 2026 with participation from Caddies, the first time that this category is involved.
This will be followed by the Elite Amateurs tournament from Wednesday, 5th to Friday, 7th August and, the Professional Golfers from Wednesday, 5th to Saturday, 8th August 2026.
The tournament will culminate in the Main Event on Saturday, 8th August 2026, bringing together corporate teams, sponsors, partners, golfers, and invited guests for the flagship day of competition, networking, and impact.
This edition represents more than a golf tournament; it marks the beginning of Watoto’s eight-year journey towards 2034, when Watoto celebrates 50 years of impact, with a vision to empower 10,000 vulnerable mothers across Uganda and South Sudan.

When I joined Watoto, I had lost hope. I had no home, no stable income, and I did not know how I would raise my children. Watoto welcomed me with love, gave me skills, and helped me believe in myself again. Today, my three children are graduates, and I am helping other mothers build better lives. Watoto did not just support me; they gave me a new beginning. They taught me how to work, save, and grow a business. I am proud to stand here as proof that when you empower one mother, you change a whole family and inspire many others to never give up.

The 2026 Impact Goal – Empowering 1,000 Mothers:
The Watoto Golf Tournament 2026 aims to raise UGX 450 million, directly supporting 1,000 vulnerable mothers through business starter packs and holistic empowerment programmes.
A contribution of UGX 450,000 empowers one mother with the opportunity to start a sustainable livelihood, restore her independence, and create a better future for her children.
The tournament will feature a total prize structure of UGX 34 million, with UGX 24 million awarded as prize money and UGX 10 million contributed directly towards the Watoto cause.
