Two West African giants Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso will face off at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with a group B encounter slated for Monday, 11PM EAT at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

Today’s clash will be the first meeting between the two at the continental competition.

Burkina Faso are only making their second appearance at WAFCON having qualified for the first time back in 2022.

Ahead of today’s encounter, they will be seeking for their first win against a more experienced team in Ivory Coast who have been to this stage in 2012 and 2014.

However, their 12-year absence at WAFCON will come with new lessons and challenges.

Reynald Pedros’ experience at WAFCON will therefore be inportant for Ivory Coast. He was in charge of Morocco at the 2022 WAFCON and defeated Burkina Faso 1-0.

On the other hand, Burkina Faso has Pascal Sawadogo who was also their coach on their debut back in 2022.
