Professional golfer Ronald Rugumayo remains in the lead after the opening 54 holes of the 2026 Uganda Golf Club (UGC) Ladies Open.

Rugumayo scored 3-under-69 on Thursday to maintain his under-par tourney with a 4-stroke lead over second-placed Taddeo Rodell Gaita.

With five birdies and one eagle during round three, Rugumayo also recorded 8 pars and 4 bogeys.

Rugumayo commenced day three action with a bogey on the par-5 hole 1. He then had par scores on the subsequent holes 2, 3 and 4 before two birdies on holes 5 and 6. Another par on 7, he climaxed the front 9 with a birdie on hole 8 and a bogey on 9.

Two par scores on 10 and 11, a bogey on 12 before recovering with an eagle on 3. He then had pars on 14 and 15, a bogey on 16 and rose with two successive birdies on 17 and 18.

However, round three belonged to David Kamulindwa, who played a magical 7-under-65 on the day.

Kamulindwa scored 6 birdies, one eagle, 10 pars and 1 bogey.

Overall, he moved a massive seven places up to 5th with 213 strokes in 54 holes, behind Phillip Kasozi (211), Grace Kasango (210), Gaita (208) and the overnight leader Rugumayo (204).

The final round of the professionals will come on Friday, 31st July 2026 as the respective players eye to better their scores.

The professionals are playing for Shs 20,000,000 total kitty.

Meanwhile, the elite gross male players climaxed their 54-hole competition with the champion.

At the same time, the elite gross ladies teed off day one on Thursday.

The total cash kitty for the entire tournament was drastically increased to Shs 39,000,000; thanks to the shrewd leadership of Gloria Mbaguta, the lady captain at Uganda Golf Club.

The share for the elite gross females is Shs 11,000,000, with Shs 6,000,000 for the elite gross men, as the caddies shall take home Shs 2,000,000.
