Before the sports competition, there was an official launch of the piped water well donated by an old student; Senior Counsel Johnny P. Barenzi. Three legendary teachers; Teddy Tomusange, Rosemary Harriet Namaganda and Salongo Xavier Francis Nsubuga were specially recognized.

Old students of Nkumba Primary School reunited together during the second edition of the Alumni sports gala held at the Nkumba University playgrounds on Saturday, 1st August 2026.
It was a special moment to rekindle the golden old memories, smile, shed a sweat and network together as the old students from the different decades easily mingled in social games.
The games played ranged from football, volleyball, netball, egg on spoon, water bottle filling, target throw, blind fold movement sport, chair-dance to the exciting tug-of-war.
To spice up the day, many of the old students turned up in the pink school uniform; a dress for the ladies and the shirt with shorts and the school sockings.
Top performers:
The class of 2004 won the overall gong during the day-long event also graced by Dr Ben Kintu, an alumni from the class of 1958 who also donated Ug.Shs 2,000,000 to the alumni association treasury.
Other top performers:
In Volleyball, the class of 1994 was the best as 2004 won the football event.
The exciting Water Bottle filling competition was won by the class of 1990 (Men) & Class of 2004 (Ladies).
Chair-dance has the class of 1990 (Ladies) & class of 2004 (Men) as top performers.
The egg on spoon event was won by the class of 1999 (Ladies) & Class of 2004 (Men).
In Netball, the current pupils beat the old students 16-02 in a one sided duel.
The Target sport was triumphed by 2004 (Men) & 1990 (Ladies)
Meanwhile, the smartest team was the class of 1990 as Nakasumba cluster emerged as the most disciplined.
There were special plaques, certificates, medals and trophies awarded to the different outstanding personalities, teams and individual top performers.

This well is estimated to have cost at least Ug.Shs 45,000,000 and will serve the entire school premises with clean water.
