Who will be crowned as the champion of the 2026 National Basketball League?
It will be either Namuwongo Blazers or City Oilers as the journey to the championship begins today at Lugogo Indoor Arena, with tip-off at 8:00 PM.
After a long colourful campaign for either side, the two teams will face off in the repeat of last year’s final in a highly anticipated clash.
The Blazers get into the final as the form team, having topped the regular season standings before dispatching JT Jaguars and UCU Canons with dominant sweeps in the quarterfinals and semifinals.
On the other hand, City Oilers who secured the second place in the regular season, punched their ticket to the finals in equally emphatic fashion sweeping past KCCA Panthers and Rezlife Saints in Playoffs.
Coach Andrew Tendo’s side will be looking to unleash mid-season additions Patrick Rembert, Germaine Roebuck and Jonathan Komagum to regain their pedestal.
Nothing separated the two giants during regular season with City Oilers taking the first fixture before the Blazers evened the score in the return game.
Action will focus strictly on the men’s series for now as the women’s finals line-up remains pending as JT Lady Jaguars await the winner of the rescheduled semifinals between KCCA Leopards and UCU Canons.
