- Aarhus 2-1 Sabah FK
James Bogere scored two stunning goals as Denmark’s Aarhus Gymanstikforening won 2-1 against Sabah FK of Azerbaijan in the first leg of the third UEFA Champions League qualifying round.
The Ugandan starlet opened the scores when he smashed the ball on the edge of the box into the roof of the net to send the home crowd into frenzy just after the hour mark at Cepheus Park.
Bogere who made his Uganda Cranes debut at the Afcon early this year in Morocco doubled the hosts’ lead when he fired a first-time strike into the far corner again in the 63rd minute following a brilliant forward’s run that got him on to a well weighed Magnus Knudsen.
The visitors however pulled one back four minutes later to leave the tie evenly poised through Veljko Simić strike as he slotted home Rakhmonaliev’s cutback.
The two sides will face off in the second leg in Baku with the aggregate winner qualifying for the play-off
