Kitara will play both their first preliminary round matches against Somalia’s Mogadishu City FC in the Caf Confederation Cup at Hoima City stadium.

This is due to Somalia’s lack of facility at the standard of hosting the Caf Confederation Cup as per the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The confirmation was announced by Kitara who will be playing the first leg ‘away from home’ as per the fixture following a draw conducted a couple of weeks ago.

“With Somalia currently lacking a CAF approved stadium, Mogadishu City have confirmed that they will host their fixture at Hoima City Stadium in Hoima, Uganda — the same ground Kitara FC registered with CAF as our official home for this season’s Confederation Cup campaign,” read a statement in parts on the Kitara website.

Accordingly, the first leg is scheduled for September 5 and the second leg a week later on Saturday September 12, 2026 – both matches kicking off at 4pm.

The winner on aggregate advances to the second preliminary round where Egypt’s Al Ahly FC is lurking.

Meanwhile, Kitara has confirmed that ticket sales begin on Monday both online and physically.

“Tickets go on sale from Monday, 17th August 2026. Fans can purchase online, in person at the Kitara FC offices in Hoima town and Kinubi, or through our branded mobile ticketing van.”

Ordinary tickets cost UGX 20,000, while VIP tickets go for UGX 50,000.
