Rines Secondary School made it 3-out-3 victories at the ongoing 2026 East African Secondary School Games in Morogoro city, Tanzania.
The reigning Uganda girls’ football national champions overcame Tanzania’s Fountain Gate Secondary School at the Highland Sports Complex on Monday, 17th August 2026.
Justine Ayerango scored a brace, and Zuena Nandego got one goal for Rines Secondary School.
Sara Omary’s earlier opener turned into a mere consolation.
The victory takes Rines S.S to 9 points out of three matches played thus far and in sight for a slot at the semi-finals.
This follows earlier wins over Nyakach Girls (Kenya) and Ziba SS (Tanzania) 3-1 and 1-0 respectively.
In the three matches, Rines S.S has now scored 7 goals and conceded twice.
“I thank my teammates for the fighting spirit. The job is halfway done; we need to climax on a high note,” team skipper Ayerango remarked.
Meanwhile, in Group B, Amus College School overcame Tanzania’s Alliance High School Mwanza 2-0.
Hellen Namulondo and Babra Nasista scored for Amus College School in the 58th and 67th minutes respectively.
Amus College has now ascended to seven points from three games.
The group stage games continue on Tuesday, 18th August 2026.
