Allan Oyirwoth officially unveiled at Dunfermline Athletic

The loyal faithful at the KDM Group East End Park were left with something to cheer about despite suffering a 1-2 loss to Ross County in the Scottish Premier Sports Cup.

Dunfermline Athletic’s new signing, Allan Oyirwoth, was on target moments after being introduced on his debut since the loan transfer from Major League Soccer’s New England Revolution.

Oyirwoth found the back of the net with a close-range finish in the 76th minute to cancel Jamie Lindsay’s opener that arrived two minutes to the hour mark.

Ross County restored their advantage five minutes from normal time when Richard Chin produced a superb finish from 18 yards in the 85th minute, securing a 2–1 victory and sending County through to the Premier Sports Cup quarterfinals.

Despite Dunfermline’s defeat, Oyirwoth’s individual contribution provides an encouraging start to his latest chapter abroad.

The Ugandan midfielder moved to Scotland after spending the 2026 campaign within the New England Revolution system. The MLS club confirmed that he had made 15 appearances for Revolution II during the campaign, scoring once, while also making senior-team and U.S. Open Cup appearances during his time in the United States.

Oyirwoth originally joined New England Revolution in January 2025 and became one of the club’s youngest players to make an MLS appearance. The Revolution’s official profile notes that he made five MLS appearances in 2025, including four starts, while continuing his development with Revolution II.

His move to Dunfermline therefore represents an opportunity for the young midfielder to gain regular exposure to senior professional football in Europe, with the Scottish Championship providing a competitive environment in which he can continue his development.
