Uganda’s St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende will face hosts Morogoro Secondary School (Tanzania) in the eagerly awaited boys’ football final at the 2026 FEASSA Games, to be held at the Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro on Saturday, 22nd August.

The fixture was confirmed on Friday (21st August) following the completion of the semi-finals played at the same venue.

In the first semi-final, Morogoro SS overcame Rwanda’s CGF Kigali 3-1 in a mid-morning duel played in sunny conditions.

Morogoro S.S had earlier eliminated Uganda’s Amus College School 2-1 in post-match penalties after normal time at the Ujenzi playground had failed to produce any goal.

For the second semi-final witnessed by a big crowd including St Mary’s Kitende director Dr Lawrence Mulindwa, normal time was goal-less before the Ugandans won the tense and dramatic shoot-out 6-5 to book their final berth.

The final on Saturday shall therefore be a contest between Uganda and Tanzania.

Defending champions St Mary’s Kitende did not skip the group stages.

Meanwhile, in girls’ football, the final is between two Ugandan teams; Rines Secondary School and Amus College.

Rines dumped out another Ugandan side, Boni Consili Vocational and Secondary School, 1-0 courtesy of defender Patricia Nanyanzi Nakato.

Amus College won 2-0 over Rwanda’s PSB Huye.

This year’s championship has marked the 23rd edition with action in ball and racquet sports for both primary and secondary schools from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
