The Uganda Premier League secretariat has on Saturday released the fixtures for the first round of the upcoming season. The 2026/27 will feature 18 teams, two more from the previous campaign.

The season will officially get underway on Friday, 28th August with reigning Champions Vipers taking on Entebbe UPPC at St. Mary’s Stadium.

It should be noted that the secretariat has earlier released a fixture with only 12 teams with the other six failing to meet the minimum Club Licensing requirements especially in regards to stadium standards.

The clubs in question included KCCA and NEC who share Phillip Omondi Stadium, Entebbe UPPC, Blacks Power, Kataka and Kigezi HomeBoyz.

However, the FUFA Licensing Committee recently approved Phillip Omondi stadium but with limitations while the other clubs have been forced to find alternatives.

For instance Kataka will host games at Bukedea Comprehensive School instead of Mbale City Stadium, Blacks Power from Lira will host games at the Hoima City Stadium annex just like Kitara FC while Kigezi HomeBoyz will play its home games at Rwamwanja Stadium in Kamwenge.

The first round of the League will run up to Thursday 24th December 2026.
