• FINAL: Jinja SSS 130/2 beat Shree Sahajanand 130 all out by 8 wickets

Jinja SS inflicted the only defeat on Shree Sahajanand in the final of the Sky View Boys Schools Cricket Week.

Shree was unbeaten all the way to the final, but they ran into a determined Jinja SSS side that dominated them in a pulsating final.

Jinja SS followed their playbook to the dot, bowling only their pace bowlers against an opponent who isn’t very comfortable with pace on a lively pitch.

Shree won the toss and batted first; however, the fast bowling engine room of Jinja SSS was hard to put away with many high-rising balls. National U-19 star Devanesh Patel (39) offered the resistance, but a low-order collapse didn’t help Shree, who finished on 130 in their quota of 20 overs.

In the run chase, Jinja SS was relentless from the get-go and put foot on the metal immediately. Harioum Dudareja (50) and Juma Senyondo (48) anchored the chase and led their team to the championship.

Shree used eight different bowling options, but none brought any success against a determined Jinja SSS.

Jinja SS won their sixth Schools Cricket Week title.

Trevor Arikiriza from Busoga College Mwiri won the MVP award, Marvin Ouma from Gulu High won the Best Batter award, Elijah Matte won the Best Bowler award, Areeb Faiz from Shree Sahajanand won the Best Wicketkeeper award, and Abdulai Yusuf won the Best Fielder award.
