The fifth edition of the Clash of Titans is anticipated to be a cracker of sorts and will be played over two legs at Uganda Golf Club (UGC) and Entebbe Club.
This championship comes barely a week after the climax of the prestigious Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open series (Ladies, Seniors, Amateurs and Professionals) that was played at UGC in Kitante, Kampala.
The Clash of Titans golf championship is affiliated with the different schools that the different golfers attended.
From humble beginnings, the schools have now grown to 21, with over 500 players anticipated to grace this championship over two legs in Kampala and Entebbe.
The first leg will be played on Saturday, 12th September 2026 at Uganda Golf Club before the grand finale on 10th October 2026 at Entebbe Club.
“The Clash of Titans golf championship has continued to grow through leaps and bounds. This year, we have two legs in Kampala and Entebbe. We thank the sponsors who have been part of this journey since inception and those who have joined us,” Henry Nsubuga, a key organiser of tourney told the media during the official launch at Entebbe club.
Uganda Golf Club’s chairperson for the board, Paul Nuwagaba, anticipates a great event coming days after the Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open series.
“We have had a busy time at UGC with the Uganda Open series. The course remains immaculate, and we also expect a great championship for the Clash of Titans on 12th September 2026,” Nuwagaba hinted.
Phiona Nekusa, the brand and communications lead at Hima Cement, the lead partners for this championship since inception, promised a firm, lasting relationship with the organising team.
“Hima Cement is proud to be associated with the Clash of Titans golf tournament. We take pride in this tournament since we have sponsored it since the first edition to-date. We promise to remain with the organising team for eternity,” Nekusa vowed.
Camilla Mindra, the communications lead at Jubilee Insurance, one of the new companies on board acknowledges that the association with the clash of titans golf tournament is a direct pay-back initiative to their clients.
Kings College Budo won the inaugural edition in 2022; St Mary’s Kisubi (SMACK) was triumphant in 2023, Ntare School were champions in 2024 and SMACK returned as winners in 2025.
Bweranyangi Girls won the ladies’ version in 2024 and 2025.
Schools such as SMACK, Kings College Budo, Namilyango College, Busoga College Mwiri, St Joseph’s College Omaci, Nabumali High School, Uganda Martyrs Namugongo, Old Kampala S.S, Mvara S.S, Ntare School, Makerere College, Gayaza High School, MaryHill High School, Kigezi High School, Nyakasura School will be part.
Proceeds will be channelled to school projects to develop the game of golf through the Uganda Golf Union (UGU).
The youngest golfer is 21-years-old whilst the oldest is 84 years old, proving the inclusivity of this tournament that also accommodates either gender.
