It is a busy time for Uganda Cranes ahead of the upcoming AFCON 2027 Qualifiers and international build-up engagements.
Four matches are lined up at the end of September and early October 2026. Tunisia (away), Libya (home) and two international friendlies against DR Congo in Côte d’Ivoire await Uganda.
To this effect, Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put has released a 28-man squad for the four matches.
It is a blend of the experienced and youthful crop, with legendary goalkeeper Denis Onyango among the three shot-stoppers alongside SC Villa’s David Lukwago and NEC’s Hannington Ssebwalunyo.
Rookie Jonathan Gift Odongo, a right-back at Entebbe UPPC, is among the new faces.




There is space for former Uganda U-17 and U-20 player Sadam Masereka, US-based Noble Okello Ayo, Richard Basangwa, Frank Sebufu, Geofrey Lubangakene, Hillary Mukundane, Joseph Seremba and Hassan Mubiru.
Freshly signed Algerian-based defender Rogers Torach Ochaki, Allan Oyirowth, Allan Okello, James Bogere, Steven Desse Mukwala, Azizi Kayondo, Baba Alhassan, Rogers Mato, Kenneth Semakula and Travis Mutyaba are also on the team.
Uganda Cranes play Tunisia away in Rades on 24th September 2026 before hosting Libya in Hoima on 29th September 2026 during the opening two qualifiers for AFCON 2027.
FUFA also confirmed two international build-up matches against Sebastien Desabre’s DR Congo in Abdijan on 2nd October and 5th October 2026.
