Heart of Midlothian secured their Premier Sports Cup semifinal place with a comfortable 3-0 victory at Ochilview Park on Friday night.
Goals from JJ Williams, Rogers Kassim Mato, and Yan Dhanda gave Hearts the comfortable victory during the quarterfinal duel.
The rotated squad under Wouter Vrancken shone, with new striker Williams and winger Mato impressing fans with their direct play and clinical finishing.
This result extended Hearts’ unbeaten run to nine games and gave fringe players key minutes, while resting stars ahead of the Hampden semi-final draw on Sunday.
The result was important and good for us. This was what we were talking about in the dressing rooms. It is good confidence for the boys, technical team and all of the squad. I am getting along well with the new manager (Wouter Vrancken), getting some minutes. He is a good manager, also pushing us to do better.
