Rogers Torach Ochaki with Constantine teammates
  • Algerian Ligue 1 (Week 2):
  • Club Sportif Constantinois 3-0 ASO Chlef

Uganda Cranes defender Rogers Torach Ochaki continues with the swift acclimatisation to the demanding physical and tactical Algerian top-flight league.

Barely a week after earning his debut in Club Sportif Constantinois’ one-all stalemate against C.R Temouchent at the Omar Oucief Stadium, Torach played another 90 minutes of scintillating football before the home fans.

Club Sportif Constantinois whipped visiting ASO Chlef 3-0 on Saturday, 12th September 2026, at the 22,996-seater Chahid Hamlaoui Stadium, with Torach playing the entire duration of the game.

Brahim Dib opened the scoring on the half-hour mark in the first stanza before two second-half goals from Togolese international Yawo Agbagno and Karim Chaban in the 53rd and 84th minutes, respectively.

Torach was flawless in this duel with timely tackles, excellent passing of the ball from the defence, solid in aerial duels and a commander of the team from the team.

“I am fully embracing the new challenge at Club Sportif Constantinois with full focus, the same passion for the game and ready to work,” the towering centre-back attested.

During match day one, Club Sportif Constantinois conceded in the 5th minute before levelling through Nassim L’Ghoul’s 69th-minute equaliser.

Christened as “The Smurfs”, Club Sportif Constantinois will visit ES Setif on 19th September 2026.

Torach’s rich form comes at the right time, as he was confirmed in the Uganda Cranes 28-man squad for the upcoming AFCON 2027 qualifiers against Tunisia (in Rades) and Libya (Hoima) later this month.

Uganda Cranes will also play the Democratic Republic of Congo during two international build-up matches in early October.

After Allan Okello featured at AC Paradou, Torach is the other Ugandan player to play in the Algerian Ligue 1.

David Isabirye is a senior staff writer for Kawowo Sports where he covers most of the major events.
