Towering Uganda Cranes and Club Sportif Constantinois defender Rogers Torach Ochaki recently penned a 3-year deal with the Algerian Ligue 1 club.
The former Vipers Sports Club player has since featured in the opening two league games, showing maturity in the 1-all stalemate with C.R Temouchent on the road and the comprehensive 3-0 home victory over ASO Chlef.
He is part of the Uganda Cranes’ squad for the upcoming AFCON 2027 qualifiers away against Tunisia in Rades city on 24th September 2026.
Five days later, the Uganda Cranes will then play their first-ever home game in Hoima against Libya on 29th September 2026.
FUFA also confirmed two international build-up games with Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on 2nd and 5th October 2026 in Abdijan, Cote d’Ivoire.
In the latest interview, Torach heartily shares about every big opportunity that comes with representing his country, life in Algeria and the special alignment he has with the fans.
The summon to the Uganda Cranes once again for four matches has been made. How special is it for you personally and for your new club?
Rogers Torach Ochaki: It is always an honour and an absolute privilege to represent my nation.
Every call-up to the Uganda Cranes is special, and I never take that opportunity for granted.
I am looking forward to contributing to the team and giving my very best for the country.
It is also a proud moment for my new club, and I hope to represent them well while showcasing the quality and professionalism of the environment I now find myself in.
Earlier this year, you were at AFCON in Morocco. What special lessons or experiences do you carry forward from that tournament?
Rogers Torach Ochaki: Every international match window presents a different challenge and experience, but playing in North Africa was truly memorable.
The quality of the stadiums, the passion of the fans, and the level of support we received were overwhelming.
Participating at Total Energies AFCON 2025 in Morocco was, in many ways, a step that God had ordained for me.
At the time, I did not know that my next career destination would be Algeria.
Looking back now, I see it as an opportunity to experience first-hand the atmosphere, culture, and incredible energy of North African football.
It gave me a deeper appreciation of the region and prepared me, in some ways, for this new chapter of my career.
How have you found life at your new club?
Rogers Torach Ochaki: It has generally been a very positive experience.
The club is highly professional, with excellent management and a passionate fan base.
I have felt welcomed from the moment I arrived, and I am enjoying settling into the team and the new environment.
I look forward to continuing to work hard, improving, and helping the club achieve its objectives.
