Kampala University is set to make its debut at the 7th Kenya International Woodball Championships, scheduled for this weekend in Nairobi and Thika, Kenya.
A strong team of 12 players, comprising six men and six women, has been selected by Coach Lillian Zawedde to represent Kampala University at this prestigious international Woodball championship.
The team will depart Uganda on Thursday, 17 September 2026, under the leadership of Sports Tutor Martha Soigi.
This marks the first time Kampala University will participate in the Kenya International Woodball Open Championship, an important milestone in the University’s growing commitment to sports development and international competition.
The team has been preparing with determination and is ready to compete against athletes from different countries at the international championship.
Participation is expected to provide valuable exposure to the players while further strengthening Kampala University’s presence on the international Woodball stage.
Kampala University appreciates the continued support and commitment of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Badru Kateregga, towards the development and promotion of sports at the University and in Uganda.
Professor Badru Kateregga’s support has contributed to creating opportunities for students and athletes to participate in competitive sports at national, regional, and international levels.
As the team prepares to travel, the players and technical team remain focused, united, and ready to represent Kampala University and Uganda with commitment, discipline, and sportsmanship.
