KCCA has had a sloppy start to the season, but Wednesday’s victory over newcomers Kataka provided a sigh of relief for both head coach Brian Ssenyondo and the players.
The Kasasiro Boys earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Mbale-based outfit courtesy of Emmanuel Anyama’s second-half goal.
Ibrahim ‘Owen’ Kasule, who recently joined the team, believes the win helps to relieve pressure off them as they seek to make more improvements.
The midfielder was one of the best performers in what was his first start for KCCA, playing for 79 minutes before he was replaced by Yunus Sibira.
“I believe the win takes away a bit of pressure because we were equally disappointed with the results from the first three games,” he stated.
With the League heading into a break (due to the international break), Kasule believes that period will help them iron out a few things and return as a better team.
“I think the upcoming international break will help us to work on a few things as a team. I’m sure the coaches have seen areas of concern, and they will address them before we resume.”
Upon resumption, KCCA will visit URA on 9th October before taking on Ntungasaze, UPDF, Lugazi and Mbarara City in the same month.
