  • Game 7: ILT20 Cup Kigali, Rwanda
  • Result: Uganda 188/2 beat Rwanda 116/9 by 72 runs

Uganda’s Cricket Cranes made light work of hosts Rwanda to reach the final of the ILT20 Cup in Kigali.

Uganda won the toss and elected to bat, with Juma Miyagi and Anas Baig returning in place of Fahad Mutagana and Enock Kasaija.

Robinson Obuya led Uganda’s innings, carrying his bat for 118 off 70 balls, including eight maximums and eight boundaries. His first T20i century carried the Cricket Cranes to 188/2 in their 20-Over quota, with Gerald Olipa (35 not out) continuing his rich vein of form in a supporting role.

In the run chase, Rwanda was reduced to 25/5 after some excellent fast bowling from Juma Miyaji and Cosmas Kyewuta, and they never recovered from that position.

Isae Niyomugabo (52 not out) offered some resistance, but he lacked the support to get over the line as Uganda picked up the win by 72 runs to earn a spot in the final.

Cosmas Kyewuta (3/32), Juma Miyagi (2/8) and Joseph Baguma (3/22) were the pick up of the bowlers for the Cricket Cranes.

Uganda will play Kenya tomorrow in their final round-robin game before the final on Saturday, mostly against the same opposition.
