Namibia made a perfect start to their pursuit of qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Congo on Thursday.
The Brave Warriors claimed a 1-0 win against Congo to set an early pace in Group G that also includes Cameroon and Comoros.
Bethuel Muzeu scored the lone goal of the game, heading home in the 47th minute to guide Namibia to victory.
It should be noted that the game was played in Gaborone, Botswana, because Namibia don’t have a CAF-certified stadium.
Namibia will return to action on Tuesday next week with an away fixture against Comoros, while Congo will take on Cameroon on the same day.
It should be noted that apart from the groups that have hosts Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the top two teams will qualify for the final tournament.
