AFCON 2027 PAMOJA Qualifiers (Group A)

  • Morocco 2-0 Gabon
  • Niger 2-1 Lesotho

The Moroccan national team asserted its dominance over the match from the outset, while the Gabonese side sought to maintain defensive solidity in the face of the Atlas Lions’ attacking pressure.

Noussair Mazraoui succeeded in giving the Moroccan national team the lead in the 36th minute.

He unleashed a powerful shot that deceived the Gabonese goalkeeper, putting the hosts ahead before the end of the first half.

The score remained unchanged at the start of the second half, with Morocco maintaining the upper hand.

Meanwhile, the Gabonese team failed to pose a sufficient threat to equalise.

Before the match ended, Soufiane Rahimi extended Morocco’s lead with a second goal in the 84th minute. He capitalised on a precise pass from El Khannouss, securing the three points for the home team.

Meanwhile, in the same group, Niger beat Lesotho 2-1.

Daniel Sosah and Oumar Sako scored for Niger, with Sera Motebang pulling back a goal for Lesotho through a well-taken penalty.

Morocco and Niger now have three points apiece, with Lesotho and Gabon yet to earn any points.
