Uganda Cranes face Libya on Tuesday at the Hoima City stadium, the first ever major international match to be played outside of central Uganda (Namboole, Nakivubo or Kitende).
The Libyan national football team has finally safely landed at the Kabalega International airport in Hoima ahead of their 2027 TotalEnergies Afcon qualifying match with Uganda Cranes.
Libya, aboard Uganda Airlines plane 5X-EQU touched based at around 1pm and was received by among others a team from the Uganda Aviation Authority, the members of the AFCON Local Organizing Committee, Minister of Works and Transport Hon. Fred Byamukama and the Hon Engineer Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki, the Minister of Science Technology and Innovation.
The Libyan team would have arrived earlier according to schedule but Kawowo Sports understands that an earlier flight faced weather issues which caused a turbulence that forced the plane to land back at Entebbe International Airport.
It now means that the Uganda Cranes, already at Entebbe Airport and had their flight scheduled at 12pm will now delay to fly to Hoima and as of this article, they were still at Entebbe.
