Uganda Cranes forward Rogers Mato has been named Hearts FC’s Player of the Month for September, following an impressive run of form for the Scottish side.
The announcement was made via the club’s official social media channels on Monday, September 28, 2026.
“The votes are in, Rogers Mato is your Hearts Player of the Month for September. Congrats, Mato!” the club post read.
Mato claimed the award after fending off stiff competition from Albanian winger Sabah Kerjota, Scottish winger Josh McPake and Scottish forward James Wilson.
The recognition comes on the heels of Mato’s goalscoring performance in the League Cup against Stenhousemuir, a form he successfully carried into international duty during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers with Uganda.
Rising to the challenge at Tynecastle
Mato, who secured a permanent move to Tynecastle after an initial loan spell, has consistently impressed both the technical staff and the club’s supporters with his pace, directness, and relentless work rate on the flanks.
