Arnold Vula and Kelvin Owusu Boateng made their Uganda Cranes debuts in a memorable 1-0 victory over Libya in the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers on Tuesday, September 29, as the national team christened the Hoima City Stadium with a winning performance.
For the two debutants, the encounter was an opportunity to take their first steps in international football with the Uganda senior national team.
While the result gave Uganda a winning start at their new home in Hoima, the performances of Vula and Boateng offered an early glimpse of what they could bring to the Cranes.

With only seven touches, it is difficult to draw far-reaching conclusions about his overall performance. Nevertheless, making his international debut in a competitive fixture provides valuable experience that could prove useful in future assignments.
For Boateng, the immediate challenge will be to translate his opportunities into greater involvement in Uganda’s attacking play. More playing time and familiarity with his teammates could help him establish a more significant role in the team.
