FUFA has made changes in the playing format of the Women’s second division (FUFA Women Elite League) ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The changes will see the League split into three groups from the two that have been played in recent seasons.

For the past few seasons, the League has been played under the Victoria and Elizabeth group arrangement.

However, the new format will see the League have three conferences ; namely Central, Elgon and Western.

The Elgon Conference comprises seven clubs: Jinja Lady Eagles, Busoga Queens FC, Lira City Queens FC, Ateker WFC, Highway Ladies FC, BUL WFC and Olila H/S WC.

The Western Conference has six clubs: She Kasese FC, Kitara Queens FC, Boni Consil Girls FC, Buheesi Valley WFC, Tooro Queens FC and She Gist FC.

The Central Conference is made up of eight clubs: UCU Lady Cardinals, Wakiso Hill WFC, Asubo Ladies FC, Luweero Giant Queens, Police WFC, UPDF WFC, Dream Girls FC and PISGBC Queens FC.

The competition will be played over three rounds within each conference, with the aggregate winner after the first two rounds earning the right to host the third round. The conference winners will then advance to a mini-league to determine the overall Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Elite League champion.

The top two teams from the mini-league will earn promotion to the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League for the 2027/28 season.
