Result: Ntugasaze 0-2 KCCA
KCCA extended their winning run to three matches with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Ntugasaze in the Uganda Premier League at Kira Police Arena in Kamwokya on Tuesday.
Herbert Achayi and Emmanuel Anyama were on target as the Kasasiro Boys collected maximum points, having previously beaten Kataka and URA.
KCCA have also kept four consecutive clean sheets, underlining their defensive solidity and impressive form between the posts.
Filbert Obenchan came close to opening the scoring in the 12th minute, but his header from Ibrahim Kasule’s delivery went narrowly wide.
Kasule then missed a glorious opportunity to put KCCA ahead after Ntugasaze goalkeeper palmed Achayi’s delivery into his path, only for the forward to fire wide with the goal at his mercy.
KCCA eventually broke the deadlock in the 40th minute through Achayi, whose delivery from the left slipped through the goalkeeper’s gloves and into the net following a costly error.
Ntugasaze nearly restored parity just before the break when Elvis Ngonde set up Lazaro Bwambale, but the right-back fired wide.
KCCA goalkeeper Mutwalibu Mugolofa kept his side’s lead intact in the 53rd minute with an important save to deny Arafat Kagogwe from close range.
The visitors sealed the victory with eight minutes remaining when Anyama volleyed home to double their advantage and put the result beyond doubt.
The win lifts KCCA to fifth place on 10 points, while Ntugasaze remain 16th with three points from six matches.
