Sport-S Ladies were crowned the 2026 National Club Championship winners on Sunday following a hard-fought 3-1 victory over KCB Nkumba at the YES Centre in Nsambya.

KCB Nkumba made a fiery start to the match, capitalising on early Sport-S errors to take the opening set 25-21.

Unshaken by the early setback, Sport-S rallied back strongly in the second set, dominating the court to level the match with an emphatic 25-15 win.

The third set saw both sides go toe-to-toe, remaining tied at 5-5 before the host team broke away to an 8-5 lead behind a solid defensive reception period. KCB Nkumba quickly responded after a timeout, locking the score again at 8-8.

In an electric finishing stretch, Grace Adong unleashed a series of relentless attacks before Renata Kamahoro sealed the critical set for Sport-S.

Both teams relied heavily on their middle blockers in the fourth set to stay in contention, especially as setters on both ends struggled to find a consistent rhythm with their attackers.

However, Sport-S held the edge through exceptional defensive coverage, repeatedly turning digs into swift, decisive counter-attacks to close out the set 25-22 and secure the championship title.
