KCCA players celebrate their goal against URA at Hamz stadium

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club smiled past Uganda Revenue Authority FC 1-0 during match day 5 of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League at the Hamz stadium on 9th October 2026.

Forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe came off the bench to score the all-important goal on the chilly evening as Uganda celebrated her 64th Independence Day.

Ahimbisibwe buried the ball past goalkeeper Muhammed Ssekebba in the 58th minute following a well laid cut back from the industrious Sammy Ssebaduka.

It would have been a brace for Ahimbisibwe moments later had his penalty kick not been blasted over after Ssebaduka was brought down in the forbidden area.

URA Norman Namanya closes down on KCCA captain Filbert Obenchan

The duel commenced with a high tempo and it was URA who got the first attempt on goal when midfielder Norman Namanya headed over from close range in the 13th minute.

On the quarter hour mark, KCCA had an opportunity to establish the lead but Emmanuel Anyama slotted the ball wide of the goal frame having beaten the off-side trap during a one-against-one incident.

Alex Yiga became the first player to be cautioned by FIFA Referee Shamirah Nabadda for tugging down Ibrahim Kasule on 20 minutes.

KCCA young forward Joseph Junior Jude Kakooza volleyed wide Lazaro Muhindo’s cross on 23 minutes as the visitors surged forward.

URA midfielder Marvin Nyanzi got cautioned for a late tackle onto Yunus Sibira on 27 minutes.

The tax collectors narrowly survived conceding on the half hour mark when skipper Arthur Kiggundu cleared off the goal line.

On the break, Godfrey Ssekibengo tested goalkeeper Mutwalibi Mugolofa from 30 yards but the shot stopper was equal to the task.

The game grew in physicality with another booking to Ibrahim Wamannah who was penalized for pulling down Kasule in the 31st minute before Yunus Sibira was also booked moments later for almost the similar offense.

Ssekibengo recorded another shot on target towards the climax of the first half.

Upon restart of the second half; KCCA rested Joseph Junior Jude Kakooza and Emmanuel Anyama for Brain Jjara and Ivan Ahimisibwe respectively.

The yellow card galore continued when Obenchan was penalized for a late tackle towards Ssekibengo in the 54th minute.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 58th minute when a lively Ssebaduka laid the ball in the path of Ahimbisibwe and the “Hunter” made no mistake to finish past goalkeeper Ssekebba.

Three minutes later, Ssebaduka provided a similar assist for Anyama who blasted the ball over.

Namanya shot wide of the goal frame inside the area in the 72nd minute as URA pushed for the equalized.

KCCA was awarded a penalty in the 82nd minute after Ssebaduka was tripped in the forbidden area,

Ahimbisibwe blasted the ball over from 12 yards, ruining an opportunity to double his personal and team’s goal tally.

KCCA climbed to 7th on the 18 team log with 7 points having attained their second victory in 5 matches.

URA consequently suffered a third defeat which leave the tax collectors 14th with three points fetched in five outings.

The URA – KCCA clash followed the early kick off where Entebbe UPPC whipped Police 3-0 at the same venue.
