KCCA midfielder Elvis Ngonde has called for unity and a strong team performance as the Kasasiro Boys prepare to face Ntugasaze in the Uganda Premier League at Kira Police Arena, Kamwokya.

KCCA head into their sixth league outing seeking to build momentum after collecting seven points from their opening five matches, while Ntugasaze have managed three points from the same number of games.

Ngonde is optimistic that KCCA can collect maximum points but acknowledges the need for the team to improve after an underwhelming start to the campaign.

“We are ready to play against Ntugasaze. We want to collect three points. I want to make more assists but also play well,” Ngonde said.

The midfielder is eager to contribute more to the team’s attacking play, with the fixture offering KCCA an opportunity to strengthen their position in the standings.

“We are pushing ourselves because we know the start was not the best, but still it’s our assignment to ensure that we put up a good show,” he added.

KCCA will be looking to translate that determination into a collective performance against a Ntugasaze side equally eager to improve its early-season fortunes.

Ngonde believes togetherness will be crucial if the 13-time league champions are to achieve their objectives, and has emphasised the importance of fan support in helping the team deliver.

“It’s important to be united as a team. Always turn up with a strong fight, and we can only do that to its maximum ability with the backing of our fans,” he noted.

The midfielder also credited the club’s senior players for guiding the squad through a challenging start, saying their encouragement has helped the team remain focused on its responsibility to represent KCCA.

“The senior players have helped us so much. They have always reminded us to do our best and represent KCCA well because it’s a big club,” Ngonde said.

With KCCA aiming to close the gap on the teams above them, a victory against Ntugasaze would provide a timely boost to their campaign.

Ntugasaze, meanwhile, will be hoping to use home advantage to add to their points tally as both sides seek a more consistent run of results.
