  • CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament | Second Round, Return Leg
  • Zambia vs Uganda – Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, 7 PM (EAT)

Uganda Senior Women’s National Football Team, the Crested Cranes, return to action today with one task on their agenda, and that is going past Zambia in the 2028 Olympics Qualifiers.

Carrying a 2-1 lead from the reverse fixture, the Crested Cranes believe the tie is within their control and thus must fight tooth and nail to make sure they earn a good result away.

Assistant Coach Collins Ahumuza is aware of the task ahead of them and believes it will be a tough battle, but she has full confidence in her charges to deliver.

“I know it will be a tough game like it was back at home, but we are ready. We know their abilities, and we must make sure we tame them. I have full belief in the players to go out and deliver,” she said in a pre-match press conference.

Skipper Shadia Nankya shares similar sentiments and indicates they will give their best to make sure a positive result is achieved.

“We come into this game well prepared and ready to face Zambia. I know it’s going to be a tough game, but we want to progress to the next level, and thus we must be at our best.”

In the first leg, Zambia took an early lead through Prisca Chilufya before Uganda rallied back with Agnes Nabukenya and Sylvia Kabene finding the goals.

It should be noted that the winner on aggregate between Uganda and Zambia will face either Mauritius or Ghana in the next round.
