Entebbe UPPC head coach Abdallah Mubiru has called on his side to show a killer instinct in front of goal, despite watching them secure a commanding 3-0 victory over Police FC on Independence Day.

The Printers put on a dominant display at the HAMZ Stadium in Nakivubo, controlling the tempo and carving out numerous scoring opportunities. While pleased with maximum points, Mubiru insists his forward line must become far more clinical if they are to sustain their momentum this season.

“We are happy that our target of winning was achieved,” Mubiru stated after the match. “The game is always a moment for players to showcase their abilities and I am glad they did, although we didn’t convert as many as we would have wanted. The biggest positive, however, is that we create opportunities.”

The Nakivubo Blessing in Disguise

UPPC’s transition to Nakivubo comes as a result of their traditional home, the Fisheries Ground in Bugonga, failing to clear the stringent FUFA licensing requirements. While the relocation presents a logistical hurdle for the club’s Entebbe-based faithful, Mubiru admitted that the premium playing surface in Kampala is a perfect match for his tactical philosophy.

“Sadly, we can’t play in our home area and I know many of our fans rarely travel to Nakivubo,” Mubiru lamented. “But the playing surface favors our style, and I love the ambience.”

Showdown with wounded Tax Collectors awaits

The Printers will not have long to celebrate their triumph. Next on the menu is a highly anticipated clash against a wounded URA FC side this Thursday.

The fixture will form part of a thrilling double-header at Nakivubo, kicking off shortly after the early afternoon encounter between UPDF FC and Express FC.
