KCCA head coach Brian Ssenyondo has challenged his players to improve their finishing in front of goal despite securing a comfortable 2-0 victory over Ntugasaze in the Uganda Premier League at Kira Police Arena, Kamwokya, on Tuesday.

Herbert Achayi and Emmanuel Anyama were on target as the Kasasiro Boys collected maximum points to extend their winning run to three matches following earlier victories over Kataka and URA.

Despite being pleased with the team’s performance, Ssenyondo believes KCCA should have scored more goals, pointing to missed opportunities as an area that still needs improvement.

“Our team performed well, but our problem is still burying chances. We would have concluded either two or three up, but at least we scored a second goal,” Ssenyondo said after the match.

The coach, however, believes the team’s progress from one game to another is encouraging, urging his players to maintain their hunger for improvement as they seek to meet the expectations that come with representing a big club.

“It means we are growing each game. I have always told my players we need to always long for more because it’s a big team,” he added.

Ssenyondo also highlighted the depth within his squad, noting that competition for places is pushing players to work harder and prove their worth whenever they are given an opportunity.

“The quality in depth pushes others to work more and more. So whoever is given a chance should perform to fight for his position,” he noted.

Achayi’s contribution also earned praise from the KCCA tactician, who believes the forward offers more than just goals. His creativity and attacking influence have added another dimension to the team’s play.

“We are happy to have Herbert Achayi as part of the team because he gives us a different dimension to the game. He always creates, but he has also greatly contributed to the team’s scoring tally, so we are glad that he provides leadership and productivity,” Ssenyondo said.

The victory strengthens KCCA’s momentum as they continue their league campaign, with Ssenyondo’s side now looking to build on their winning streak while improving their efficiency in front of goal.
