URA FC midfielder Norman Namanya believes the Tax Collectors can turn their recent improvement in performances into maximum points when they face Entebbe UPPC in the Uganda Premier League.

The two sides meet at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, in a tricky encounter between teams heading in contrasting directions, with URA desperate to climb the table. At the same time, the Printers seek to maintain their impressive start to the campaign.

URA have endured a difficult start to the season, collecting just three points from their first four matches and sitting 15th on the log. However, Namanya believes the team’s continued efforts to address their shortcomings could finally pay off.

“We’ve been working hard because we have not been winning games. Our last four games have given us the required results,” Namanya said during the pre-match press conference.

“As a team, we’ve been doing all it takes to ensure that we identify our mistakes and rectify them. So we do believe that now it’s time to give everything and collect maximum points.”

The midfielder credited the technical team for keeping the players motivated and pushing them to believe in their ability to turn around the club’s fortunes.

“We have done a lot of work guided by the coaches who have pushed us to believe that we have all it takes to collect results,” he added.

URA will be eager to translate that belief into a positive result, knowing that another victory could provide the much-needed momentum to revive their campaign.

“Looking at the table, that is not where we belong and everyone knows that, including the players. So a victory can place us in a much better place,” Namanya noted.

However, Entebbe UPPC present a stern test for the Tax Collectors. The Printers have made a strong start to the season, collecting 10 points from five matches to occupy third place on the table.

The encounter also promises an intriguing tactical contest, with both sides sharing a preference for possession-based football and patient build-up play.

Playing at the same venue, Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, the two teams are familiar with the conditions, leaving the battle likely to be decided by execution, discipline and the ability to exploit opportunities in the final third.

For URA, the challenge will be to turn their work on the training ground into tangible results against an opponent enjoying a much brighter start.

Entebbe UPPC, meanwhile, will be keen to maintain their consistency and strengthen their position among the early pacesetters.

With the Tax Collectors looking to climb away from the lower reaches of the table and the Printers aiming to sustain their push near the top, both sides have plenty to play for in what promises to be a closely contested encounter.
